Dealing with Lack of Motivation

How to deal with lack of motivation? Simple strategies to uplift your feeling every morning when you’re down.

Are you feeling overwhelmed with too much work to do and very little time?
If your answer is yes, then you must learn to pin down the issue. Write down the list of tasks to be done. Prioritize the activities. Which would you like to do first. I mean which task is more important and valuable? Once you have identified it, work on it first. Completion of every task gives you a sense of achievement. That’s motivation by itself.

Do you feel there’s nothing challenging to do?
We all need challenges to overcome and feel good and recognised for surmounting it. Sometimes the lack of motivation stems from lack of challenges. Be it work or at sport. Find something that’ll up your drive and give you that rush of adrenalin.

Not being recognised at work?
This can bring down your motivation levels. If your superior is not recognising your achievements or lesser talented colleagues are being recognised at work for smaller achievements. This can cause negative feelings in you and bring down your energy levels. You must take time to speak to your superior about this. Also take up some other tasks to gain recognition. This should stir you up and motivate you well.

Is there a deep seated problem bothering you?
Sometimes when a personal, financial or work related problem seizes us, we tend to get into a feeling of depression. If you are not managing your finances well, do some thing about it. If a relationship is souring, speak to the other person and sort things out. Face the issue and resolve. Just sitting down will not much good.

Is life not interesting?
Plain routine life can also lead to lack of motivation. Deal with lack of motivation by stirring up something interesting. Go outbound this weekend. Throw a party for friends. Rev up your spirits by joining a dance class. Pick up that dormant hobby and get energised. Motivate yourself positively by doing new things that make you feel refreshed.

Here are some motivating quotes to make you feel good.
The person who gets the farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure-thing boat never gets far from shore.
Dale Carnegie

Real success comes in small portions day by day. You need to take pleasure in life's daily little treasures. It is the most important thing in measuring success.
Denis Waitley

If you really want something, you can figure out how to make it happen.
Cher

Real success is finding your lifework in the work that you love.
David McCullough
Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing, that we see too late the one that is open.
Alexander Graham Bell

You do not become good by trying to be good, but by finding the goodness that is already within you, and allowing that goodness to emerge. But it can only emerge if something fundamental changes in your state of consciousness.
Eckhart Tolle
