Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), a German composer, widely acknowledged as the greatest western music composer started the romantic era in music. His personal life was in many ways tragic. He was always in and out of love and could never marry the woman he wanted.

After his death in 1827, some friends stumbled upon three letters written to Beethoven's “unsterbliche Geliebte” which in German means Immortal Beloved. Researchers, scholars and fans have written many theories about the "subject" of these letters. Chief among them being the Countess Giulietta Guicciardi. The Count of Brunsvik's two daughters were the other two candidates. All of them were students of his piano classes.

The enigmatic Beethoven romantic life seems to be shrouded by mystery. Even Goethe, the German author, referered to him as “an utterly untamed personality.”

His magical music and passion endeared him to many women, who were attracted by the wild magneticism. Some biographers say that Beethoven was well known to many prostitutes. But whether he slept with them is a matter of conjecture.

Nevertheless, when the letters became public, many saw his romantic prose as good enough to stir the feelings of any woman.

Tips for Good Relationship with Spouse

This will shape the child’s relationship and attitude towards the opposite gender. A male chauvinist might make a strong impression on a boy that he ought to behave the same way with women in his life. While a devout mom might favourably impress her daughter. Treat you wife respectfully and with love and your child will do the same. Avoid arguments, atleast in front of children. Discuss issues before taking action. Express each other’s positive traits openly when children are around. Compliment and encourage one another. Lend a helping hand. Do not let negative emotions be displayed. If the need be do it tactfully, sending the children out to play. Adult games shouldn’t rub off on children. A mother should talk of the admirable qualities in her husband and vice versa even in the absence of the other.

A boy picks up his father’s manners, attitude towards others, strength of character (or lack of it), values and discipline. While a girl unconsciously imbibes her mother’s generosity, kindness, sacrifice and devotion. If a father is submissive, the son could reveal ‘effeminate’ traits in later life. And an overbearing mother will instill man-like traits in her daughter.

Though daughters naturally imitate their mothers, they have a strong romantic relationship with the father, who is the man they most admire. And the boy develops a strong bondage with the mother, though he want to grow up, strong and dominating, like his dad.

Teaching Strategies for School Teachers

Before you start the lecture, inform students about the main topic and preferably put it down on the board encourage them to take notes. Try beginning the topic with a quiz, statement, story, anecdote, riddle or joke, if it suits the topic. But it isn’t possible always, but certainly sets the right zone for the rest of the class.

Pan your sight over the entire class you’re addressing. This not only ensures interaction but also provides you with details of who’s not attentive. Go at a uniform pace, stopping by to emphasize on vital points and recapitulate every ten minutes. All the while you must look for signals that tell you if you’re being understood or not. Blank faces, fidgeting, looking out through the window or turning eyes away as you look at them are warning signs. Address these signals immediately, or an hour’s lecture will be in vain.

Are you being too fast, inaudible or incommunicable? Whatever the reason, identify go over the topic again and clarify doubts at once. This way you’ll be saving yourself a lot of trouble when exams are round the corner.

Use your voice well, emphasizing important points a little louder. Pause when you’re just said something critical. Repeat when necessary. Allow students the time to take notes of these points.
Write down headings and subheadings, key points and proceed to the conclusion logically. Refer your notes to be focussed on the lecture and refresh your memory.

A picture is worth a thousand words.Educational aids are a must to keep the audience rivetted to the topic. Use collages, charts, models, audio-visual aids, pictures, tapes or else, improve your drawing skills.

Don’t let your lecture turn dry, instead make it interesting by posing a question, eliciting responses, discussing, critically examining and clarifying doubts. This would also give inputs on comprehension skills of the students, and help you package your class better.

Conclude the class by emphasizing the main points, doing a summary or asking a student to run through his notes, for the benefit of all.
