Sometimes we tend to ignore the money in a relationship. It does play a major part and you must give adequate attention. Whether you dine out regularly or gift occasionally, keep an eye on who’s spending how much. Return the favours, although not necessarily at once. Take turns to pay while you date. This is also a way of earning respect for yourself. If partner is willing to go Dutch on outings, do it. It’s healthy for both partners to spend while the relationship is firming up.

Vegetarian foods are generally low in fat and cholesterol and thus they have lower risk. But you need to have essential vitamins and minerals in a veg diet. Whole grains, nuts and vegetables have plenty of essential and non-essential amino acids. Breakfast cereals and fortified soy beverages are necessary for vitamin B-12. A source of vitamin D is critical too. For calcium greens must be eaten regularly. Dry beans and spinach have a fair amount of iron. Grains, legumes and nuts are a good source of zinc.

If there’s something that bothers you, it’s best to clear the misunderstanding with your love. Burying it in your heart and getting along erodes your confidence in the other and will result in a dangerous outburst sometime. It also results in scrutinising every small thing that the other says which is painful for both. If you don’t express things, it’ll confuse your partner. Get over it by talking and clearing the air. This will help bond better and help tide over bad times much much better.

We all struggle with exercising regularly. We start in right earnest and after a week, we drop out. The best way to do this is to find company. Team up with friends or neighbours to go jogging or hit the gym. This not only results in company to talk as we run or walk but more importantly if we don’t wake up in the morning, one of our exercise mates will ring the doorbell. Being in a group also means seeing the progress in the health of each one. This motivates the rest in the group. Besides you can pool up in cars or bikes.

Ask what’s happening and you’ll find the other open up with so many things in life. Listen and encourage partner to speak about home, friends, work or anything that interests him or her. That’s a way of saying that you’re interested in the other person. It also keeps you in sync with partner’s joys and challenges and offers more insight into their dreams. Listening is also a good way of developing interest in other people rather than being self-centred all the time. Listening also adds a new communication skill.

The process of ageing is natural. But it is also partly in the mind. By exercising and staying fit, we tend to be more energetic. Have healthy habits by cutting out alcohol, smoking and other unhealthy habits. A positive outlook has an effect on the way we perceive things. Develop a sense of humour and also a sense of seeing things in a humorous way. Dress well, eat healthy and be in the company of young and cheerful people. Also connect to family and share happy things every day.

Lack of quality time with partner generally increases the gap between the two and many a time results in severing of the relationship. Take a day off and be together. Try finishing your work early and spend time together. Do not bring office work home. Find time to call in between work. Put children to bed early and chat up your partner. Weekends are a great time to head out and be with each other.

Most new parents are not really prepared for life with a child. Suddenly they find themselves in a world where there’s less attention from the partner and a kind of separation. The best way is to talk about the joy of the new child and also about the need for being more supportive to keep the relationship going well. Having an elder at home to help the mother can ease some time off her. Deciding to spend some time together every day is a great idea. Reading a book or sharing lighter moments by the bedside is energizing.

Good company and community activities can also help you handle high BP better.

The first thing you need to do is be aware that you’re feeling alone and you need company. Therefore quickly pick up the phone or drive down to connect to schoolmates, colleagues or buddies. Get into a situation where you meet people – gym, club or associations. Begin to open up, say hello or look into people eyes to tell them you’re friendly. First show interest in others and slowly open up to communicate your feelings. Look after yourself well. And things will fall in place.

Sounds silly to ask this. But if two partners in love don’t laugh together regularly, it’s a sign of a strained relationship, say psychologists. Whether you want to read out jokes from reader’s digest, watch Mr Bean or Pogo together, you decide what’s best. But a few moments to smile and laugh do wonders to intimacy. Share your foibles or incidents from office, roll on the floor or dance. But make him/ her laugh.

While sitting use a chair that supports your lower back or you can keep a small pillow behind your lower back. Sit erect and stretch your legs a few times every hour. Get out of your chair for a few minutes every hour. While standing, do not bend your back or drop your shoulders. Stand with your legs spaced apart comfortably. While sleeping lie down on your back or side, but never in awkward positions.

Many a time we think about things that we appreciate in the person we love, but sadly, we don’t tell them. Sometimes, we even fail to keep them posted on important things they ought to know. We don’t even ask her/ him what he/ she likes or dislike in us. We don’t care to seek their opinion many a time. These could lead to disaster. Find time today to talk to her/ him and listen. Bare your mind regularly. Call or speak in person, it’s important.

Nails tell more tales about your health than you care to know. Pale nails in young people could mean anemia, diabetes or liver and heart related problems. If the nails are completely white and the edges are dark, it could be signs of jaundice. Bluish nails mean signs of pneumonia. If your nails show spots or lines, then it could be arthritis or psoriasis. Yellowish nails may be a result of a fungal infection.

Do you know his/ her birthday? If you don’t know the answers to these, quickly find out to keep him/ her happy. Or else, god forbid, you’ll soon have a big fight.

Do you scratch your head while at office or hanging out with friends. The best way we thought was to comb from scalp to the end of our hairs, right. Or let someone inspect our hair and remove the lice. But there’s a better way of doing it, comb your hair after a hair wash when the hair is still a little wet. This helps detect lice much better, says research. Of course, washing it regularly and treating it well keeps them away for sure.

Irresponsibility. That’s one thing they hate in men. Men usually don’t do things until they are pushed into it. Men always resist attempts to change they habits. They never accept or own up a mistake very easily. They will deny and say that nothing is wrong in the relationship. They are quick to duck at missiles fired at their lack of responsiveness. They love to dump responsibilities on the lady at the drop of a hat. Not taking up responsibilities expected of a man hurts a woman badly.

Dreams are nothing but your own thoughts, hopes and fears taking the form of symbols and imageries. They often tell you about underlying desires and even foretell the future. How to benefit from them? Don’t jolt out of sleep, wake up slowly and you may remember the dream better. Write them down, study patterns and you’ll find some meaning. If you want to achieve something, dream about it.

Daring girls make men very vulnerable. Men always want a woman who they can take care of easily, not someone who they can’t manage. They like to keep relationships simple, not complicate them with someone who they think might hurt their ego. Men are soft on the inside and it takes a man of character to actually feel very comfortable with bold women. Men are intimidated by bold women who remind them of dominating men.

The first thing to look at is your allergies. Are you allergic to something? Then check your pillow, bedding and room for dust or flint that could be the cause. Some pollen grains also cause sneezes and breathing difficulties. Dryness or wetness in the air can also lead to sneezes. Did you start using the air conditioner recently? Because changes in temperature causes some to sneeze. Use nasal drops recommended by your doctor.

Men are visually turned on. Looks appeal to them instantly. The radiant smile, the bright eyes, the clear skin and the dress that fits the body all catch a man’s attention consciously. So get the new hairstyle, choose dresses that show the curves but not the skin, spray the mild perfume and walk confidently. If you see the right man, break into a half smile but turn away quickly to make sure he doesn’t think you’re easy to get. And be seen in the right gang of girls.

Age and stress could make us feel old. You should first look at balancing your diet. Adequate amount of vitamins and minerals, plenty of water and less of oil, salt and meat is recommended. Exercise for atleast 15 minutes a day to tone up your muscles. You must take care by dressing better, styling your hair and caring for your skin. Often neglect of oneself also causes one to feel unpleasant and spending more time to care for yourself will make you feel a lot better and younger.

Most boys keep their love to themselves longer than they should, due to the fear of rejection or failure to woo her. Weigh the benefits of speaking to her. You could get a new friend and the relationship may be fulfilling. But if you fear rejection, you can never get into a relationship. Make the move to connect, take time to understand and then decide if it’d work out together. If it doesn’t, you can forget and move on to another opportunity. At least you learnt something from this and will improve the next time.

15 minutes of laughter every day gives us good sleep and a great mood through the day. Laughter exercises the stomach and facial muscles and that’s good for you. Laughter is a way of relieving stress in ourselves. A silly joke, a comedy show or a funny news story can all tickle your funny bone. There’s also a laughter yoga therapy. Yes, laughter has a therapeutic effect and is used at hospitals where clowns and jokers entertain patients.

Men are always so confused when it comes to understanding women. But honestly, they are pretty easy to understand if you can look a little deep into their psyche. Women feel vulnerable because they are physically weaker than men and also because men are prone to rushing into relationships. Give a woman a word and keep the promise, that’s all you need to get her trust. Can I feel secure in his company, can I be what I am in company with him; are her questions. Answer them.

Involuntary contractions in the muscles lead to muscle cramps. They occur when you play a game, at night or after you exercise. Dehydration, strain of muscles due to overwork or insufficient supply of blood to the affected part result in cramps. Sometimes it is caused by lack of vitamins and minerals in the body. The short term solution is to rest your muscles and seek a doctor’s advice in case of severe pain. A more nutritious diet and care while playing, exercising or working is a must.

Many of us can’t think beyond the wall clock as a gift. If only you could list down what our partner likes – fashion, collecting some things, home décor, table pieces, accessories, holidaying, books and the like, then you could identify a gift that the other person would love. Gifting is about giving something the other person loves, not about giving something which gives you pleasure. If you run out of ideas, then take the special person to a mall and ask him/ her to choose a gift. That’s not a bad idea.

There’s already a 10 hour gap between dinner and breakfast. And if you skip breakfast, the required fuel for your body is absent. And the brain and body don’t perform well for the next few hours. A healthy breakfast with proteins and fibre can keep you active through the day. In fact studies have proven that people who eat breakfast perform better in daytime activities. And breakfast has a chance of better digestion since you tend to be active for many hours after eating.
