Physical activity helps you lose weight and avoid gaining it back. You don’t need to become a world class athlete, just 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic activity (walking, running, swimming anything that gets your heart pumping) three or more times a week will help you melt away the extra kilos and help you feel better overall. And physical activity has the added benefit of suppressing your appetite and improving your overall health.
If you think you’re too busy to exercise, remember that you can accumulate those 30 minutes throughout the day (10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes in the afternoon and another 10 minutes in the evening, for example). This works well if you don’t have time to exercise for 30 minutes all at once. Sedentary people shouldn’t leap into vigorous exercise right away. Start with 5 or 10 minutes of physical activity and gradually increase your time.
