Why do you get muscle cramps?

Involuntary contractions in the muscles lead to muscle cramps. They occur when you play a game, at night or after you exercise. Dehydration, strain of muscles due to overwork or insufficient supply of blood to the affected part result in cramps. Sometimes it is caused by lack of vitamins and minerals in the body. The short term solution is to rest your muscles and seek a doctor’s advice in case of severe pain. A more nutritious diet and care while playing, exercising or working is a must.
